The DST30PX wheel balancer is built for speed, accuracy, and real-world shop demands. With one-spin balancing, advanced digital sensor technology, and multi-directional quartz sensors, it delivers precise weight placement with minimal effort. Its newly redesigned, larger hood accommodates wheels up to 43 inches in diameter, making it ready for today’s oversized assemblies. Combined with a rugged build, intuitive controls, and fast cycle times, it keeps productivity high and rework low.
Check it Out! The DST30P accurately and efficiently calibrates wheel and tire configurations. Like the DST-2420 wheel balancer, the DST30P handles wheels up to a 30” diameter. It also contains many of the same working components as the DST-2420 but with one exception: we took the 64-tooth magnetic transducer encoder from the DST-64T and built it into this smaller unit for minimal yet incredibly precise wheel weight placements.
Planning on balancing truck and SUV tires? We highly recommend purchasing the Truck Cone Kit (5150032)
The larger encoder features precision-cut square teeth to convert rotary position to a digital electronic signal, quickly achieving maximum profile and top-dead-center positioning. As part of our ongoing mission to supply shops and garages of all sizes, we reduced the unit’s footprint by narrowing the chassis.
If you’re looking for more precise measuring without the digital frills, add-ons and increased body size of the DST-64T, the DST30P is the perfect wheel balancer for your shop. It’s a cost-effective hybrid unit that offers the most precise readings you’ll ever generate from a wheel balancer.
The Direct-Axis drive system helps keep the DST30P running smoothly over time. A single belt connects the motor and unbalance sensor, eliminating most maintenance costs during your wheel balancer’s many years of service.
The DST30P doubles the potential placement for wheel weights while maintaining a space-conscious and highly cost-effective shop solution. Dynamic, static and ALU balancing modes are standard on each unit, featuring dual plane calibration for all OEM configurations and performance wheels.
Ranger’s proprietary Digital Sensor Technology offers a 16-digit digital sensor processor and single-chip technology for better speed and accuracy in your readings. OEM and performance wheels require this sort of sophisticated technology for proper balancing, so be sure any wheel balancer you choose is fully capable of servicing these specialized wheel types.
Single-chip circuit board architecture upgrades performance and reliability over multi-chip installations, (e.g., latency reductions, substantial boost in device throughput). A speedy, dedicated hyper transport protocol lets data communicate with the micro-processor much faster than would otherwise be possible. Single-chip boards also use less power and better dissipate heat.
Dual-component piezoelectric quartz load sensors and digital rotation encoder measure longitudinal, transversal and shear effects for multi-directional force unbalance detection. The piezoelectric force sensors are the most sensitive sensors we have ever made, offering superior stability and fatigue resistance for unlimited service life with your wheel balancer. High-rigidity quartz crystal sensors offer high frequency detection in all three measured directions.
A diverse arrangement of hardened-steel mounting cones lets you work with virtually all wheel types, including most light trucks and SUVs. A rubber “quick-nut” bell adapter, with a non-marring rear cone mount pressure cup, holds mounted wheels securely in place and is sure not to damage tires or wheels during balancing procedures.
The DST30P wheel balancer tooling package includes car and light truck cones, as well as a heavy-duty truck cone. This package includes three “smaller” cones: 1.75” - 2.75”, 2.75” - 3.50” and 3.50” - 4.25”, as well as one truck cone 4.50” - 5.00”. Once an optional accessory, the 4.5" - 5.00" truck cone package is now standard.
An even larger double-sided centering Truck Cone Kit that fits hub sizes 4.75" - 6.75" is sold separately, but also fits the DST30P.
The double-sided centering cone fits hub sizes 4.75” – 6.75”. Put simply, Ranger wheel balancers easily accommodate most OEM and aftermarket wheel configurations.
A tape weight feeder is located conveniently on a side-shelf that’s built into the wheel balancer. You’ll never have to worry about losing or misplacing your Ranger easy-to-peel adhesive tape weight.
The weight calculations on the DST30P wheel balancer are more accurate than the DST-2420—twice as accurate, in fact! We’ve taken something great and made it even greater, now balancing your tire and wheel configurations with the most precise placements possible. The 64-tooth magnetic transducer encoder offers more precise placement readouts by making it easier to achieve maximum profile and top-dead-center positioning. This means you use less weight while you save more time, increasing your bottom line.
We’ve taken the touch-pad display panel on the DST-2420 wheel balancer and raised it up, tower-style, for the DST30P. This design improvement offers more flexibility in how you work. The extended, fully adjustable display avoids the problem of glare that can shroud readouts on the screen, and it ensures differently abled operators will enjoy a more ergonomic experience as they calibrate tire and wheel configurations.
Highly visible LED displays show you exactly where to place the weights in seconds flat. These LED indicators let you see weight positions when the mounted wheel is rolled top-dead-center. As mentioned, the DST30P features an improved encoder wheel over the DST-2420, which means the LED display on the DST30P is more sensitive and more accurate than ever before.
When you buy any one of Ranger’s wheel balancers, you get a starter set of wheel weights included with your purchase. The kit has one bulk roll of 100 silver adhesive steel tape weights and 100 black adhesive steel tape weights. We also include one starter box of mixed clip-on steel weights. Of course, additional weights can be purchased in these bulk packages at your convenience.
The DST30PX is built for shops that don’t have time for second spins or second guesses. With one-spin balancing and advanced digital sensor technology working behind the scenes, it delivers fast, exact weight placement every time. Whether you’re dialing in a daily driver or a set of high-end alloys, the DST30PX cuts through the noise and gets straight to perfect balance, quicker, cleaner, and more efficient from the first spin.
Anyone who’s spent time behind a wheel balancer knows the real work starts after the spin. That’s where placement either makes you look like a pro or sends you right back for another cycle, and that’s exactly where the DST30PX separates itself.
Instead of relying on guesswork or rough visual estimates, the DST30PX delivers clear, accurate placement data the moment the spin cycle ends. Operators get precise guidance on where correction weight is needed, allowing for confident, efficient installs without unnecessary rechecks.
It’s fast. It’s intuitive. And it’s built for accuracy.
The result is cleaner installs, faster workflow, and fewer repeat spins.
Modern wheels aren’t getting any simpler. They’re larger, more complex, and far less forgiving when it comes to visible weight placement. Customers expect perfect balance without compromising the look of their wheels, and the DST30PX is built to deliver exactly that.
The DST30PX’s redesigned hood isn’t just a cosmetic update, it’s built to keep up with the way wheels have evolved. With the ability to accommodate assemblies up to 43 inches in diameter, it gives shops the clearance they need to handle today’s larger wheels and tires without fighting the machine. No awkward positioning. No partial closures. Just drop the hood and get to work.
The open-side design makes a noticeable difference in day-to-day use. Wider tires, aggressive offsets, and bulky sidewalls slide in easier, reducing the hassle during setup. It also improves visibility and access, so operators can position wheels quickly and confidently without working around tight clearances.
Strength matters here too. The reinforced hood structure is built to handle the added mass of larger assemblies without flexing or compromising alignment. That added rigidity helps maintain consistent measurements during operation, which directly impacts balancing accuracy.
Bottom line, the redesigned hood isn’t just about fitting bigger wheels. It’s about making the entire balancing process smoother, faster, and more reliable when you’re dealing with the kinds of wheel and tire packages shops see every day.
And because it’s designed to handle a wide range of wheel and tire assemblies, that same precision applies whether you’re working on standard passenger vehicles or larger, heavier setups.
In a busy shop, speed and accuracy aren’t luxuries, they’re the difference between staying ahead and falling behind. And with the DST30PX, techs turn one of the most critical steps in balancing into one of the easiest.
The Direct-Axis drive system keeps the DST30PX running smooth and dependable over time. A single-belt design connects the motor and unbalance sensor, reducing complexity and cutting down on long-term maintenance costs.
The DST30PX doubles your effective weight placement potential while staying compact and cost-efficient. Dynamic, static, and ALU balancing modes come standard, along with dual-plane calibration for OEM and performance wheels. Ranger’s Digital Sensor Technology features a 16-digit processor and single-chip architecture, delivering faster data processing, improved accuracy, and reduced latency. A dedicated high-speed communication protocol ensures rapid data transfer to the microprocessor, while the single-chip design improves heat dissipation and power efficiency. The result is a smarter, faster balancer ready for today’s demanding wheel applications.
The DST30PX doesn’t just react to imbalance, it breaks it down. At its core is a multi-directional quartz sensor system that tracks how a wheel actually behaves in motion, not just where it wobbles, but how forces move through the entire assembly. Forward, sideways, twisting, it’s all captured in real time and translated into precise correction data.
Modern wheels and tires create layered, overlapping forces that older systems struggle to fully interpret. That’s why the DST30PX leans on quartz piezoelectric sensors, one of the most responsive materials in precision measurement. The moment force hits the crystal, it generates a signal instantly, picking up even the smallest irregularities other systems might miss.
The DST30PX reads multiple directions at once, giving technicians a complete picture of imbalance in a single spin. It identifies exactly where the issue exists and provides clear correction guidance.
No chasing. No stacking weights. No second-guessing. Just clean, accurate data that leads to clean, accurate results.
That level of precision matters more than ever. Today’s wheels are wider, heavier, and built with tighter tolerances. Tires are stiffer, profiles are lower, and expectations are higher. The DST30PX is designed for that reality, giving technicians the clarity they need to get it right the first time.
In the shop, that means less time correcting mistakes and more time moving vehicles through the bay.
A full range of hardened-steel mounting collets lets you handle virtually any wheel type, including most light trucks and SUVs. The rubber quick-nut bell adapter and non-marring rear pressure cup secure wheels firmly in place without damaging finishes, keeping your workflow fast and efficient.
The DST30PX comes equipped with a comprehensive collet package, including three smaller collets ranging from 2” - 2.75”, 2.5” - 3.25” and 3” - 3.8”, along with a heavy-duty truck collet covering 3.7” to 4.4”. The 4.5” to 5” truck collet, once optional, is now standard. For even larger applications, an optional double-sided centering Truck Collet Kit supports hub sizes from 4.75” to 6.75”. Whether OEM or aftermarket, this balancer is ready to handle the job.
Highly visible LED displays show exact weight placement positions as the wheel rotates to top-dead-center. Combined with the upgraded 64-tooth encoder, the system delivers faster, more sensitive, and more accurate readouts than ever before.
The advanced encoder system makes weight calculations more precise, reducing the amount of weight needed while speeding up the balancing process. Better accuracy means less waste, quicker jobs, and improved shop efficiency.
The elevated, tower-style display panel is fully adjustable, reducing glare and improving ergonomics. It’s designed to give operators a clearer view and a more comfortable working experience.
An integrated side-shelf tape weight feeder keeps adhesive weights organized and within reach, so you can work faster without interruptions.
Every DST30PX includes a starter kit with 100 silver adhesive weights, 100 black adhesive weights, and a mixed box of clip-on steel weights. You’re ready to balance right out of the box.
