​Jim’s responsibilities will span BendPak’s entire business segments including their growing portfolio of brands like BendPak® and QuickJack® vehicle service lifts, Ranger® wheel service and shop equipment products, and Autostacker® parking lifts, among a host of specialty vehicle service equipment products sold globally through domestic and international dealers. He will oversee the company’s financial operations and corporate development, helping to guide BendPak through its next stage of growth.

Mr. Fornear began his career crafting his finance skills as a public accountant with a mid-size CPA firm located in Southern California, then joining John Deere where he demonstrated upper management leadership abilities in the manufacturing sector, delivering problem-solving and cost-effective management strategies.

Mr. Fornear has more than 25 years of solid financial management experience, with positions ranging from internal auditor to controller, to chief financial officer and vice president operations. Jim served as CFO with Delta Tau Data Systems located in Chatsworth, California, a manufacturer of motion sensor devices, where he provided financial leadership during mergers and acquisition phases. He also served as Controller of TIMCO Aerosystems in Pacoima, California, a manufacturer of aerospace products for both commercial and military segments. Prior to that he served as the financial Controller of Kavlico Corporation in Moorpark, California, a Manufacturer of hi tech aerospace and defense commercial products where he interfaced with outside CPA firms and oversaw defense contract audits during their government contract compliance initiatives.

Mr. Fornear received his MBA Degree from the University of Phoenix and a Bachelor of Science Degree, Accounting Major from Southern Illinois University. He cultivated his steely grit while serving in the US Navy as a pilot where he flew the Vought XF5U, commonly referred to as "The Flying Flapjack", an experimental U.S. Navy fighter, during World War II. As a devoted follower of 16 th century history and chivalric knight culture, Jim loves to joust. He owns lances, period costumes, and even raises Shire horses on his Southern California farm specifically for jousting matches.
