Which Portable Lift is Right for You?

Which Portable Lift is Right for You?

February 02, 2024

AGOURA HILLS, CA (February 2024) – As the world’s premier car lift manufacturer, BendPak has designed lifts for all kinds of situations. Two-post, four-post, parking lifts, boat lifts…. the list goes on. Today though, we’re going to be taking a look at some of BendPak’s portable options, namely with the QuickJack and MaxJax lines of lifts. Which lift is better? Let’s go over that.

QuickJack

At Home

For home use, you can’t go wrong with QuickJack. With a 21” rise and open-center design, QuickJack has quickly become a fan-favorite. With a collapsed 3” overall height, QuickJack truly has a minimal footprint. With QuickJack you’ll be able to do basic maintenance tasks like oil changes or tire swaps, and you’ll also be able to perform other tasks like detailing and even washing easier than ever before. Now when you wash your car you won’t have to deal with bending or stooping.

A large number of car enthusiasts out there most likely won’t have the space for a full-size lift, and they shouldn’t have to! With QuickJack you won’t have to worry about having a full-size lift taking up valuable real estate in your garage, and you won’t have to make sure the concrete is up to snuff before you drill into it. Conveniently hang your QuickJack on the wall when not on use to keep your floorspace nice and open.

On the Track

Did you know that it was a trip to the racetrack that inspired the creation of QuickJack? It’s true! One of our engineers (not too sure what happened to the guy…) was on a trip to the track and figured there had to be more efficient way to get vehicles back on the track. The durable urethane wheels easily glide smoothly across most kinds of surfaces. Why are they great for the track? They won’t mar, stain, or rub off on the concrete, and they’re equally as safe on indoor surfaces such as linoleum, finished wood, and more.

Repair Shops – Regular and Mobile

When it comes to mobile repair businesses, it doesn’t get much better than QuickJack. You can’t always count on everything going smoothly, so if you need assistance but can’t make it to the shop, QuickJack helps bring the business to you. In mere minutes you can be on your way. Meanwhile back in the shop, while QuickJack isn’t a replacement for your full-sized lift, it can still function as a solid replacement lift – perfect for wheel/brake service, suspension tuning, oil changes, tire rotation, etc.

MaxJax

But what if you need more space underneath? That’s where MaxJax comes in. The M7K is a two-post portable lift which is capable of lifting up to 7,000-lbs. with ease. Much like the QuickJack, MaxJax is great for both residential and professional use.

Get two-post lifting convenience with a portable lift.

Maximize Your Garage

Have low-ceiling garages keeping you down? No longer with the M7K. This lift can safely secure up to 7,000 lbs. and raise it to 47.25” with just the pad. With the adapter you’re able to get 50.5” of height. To ensure you have a safe lifting experience, MaxJax will need to be bolted to the ground. This means that you can drill down in multiple locations to set your MaxJax up wherever you need it.

Speaking of the anchor bolts, you’re probably wondering just how strong they are. The MaxJax M7K is equipped with five anchor bolts in each column that are capable of securing up to 16,500-lbs. each. Doing some quick math will tell us that you’ll be getting roughly 82,500-lbs. of pressure being applied for each column. If you have any concerns about the quality of the concrete that you’ll be drilling into, we also offer an Epoxy Anchor Bolt Kit which is resistant to vibration to deliver long-term durability.

Pop-Up Bay Ready

If you’re running a shop, you won’t want to miss out on business due to limited space. With MaxJax in your corner, you won’t need to. The portability offered with MaxJax means you’ll be able to effectively double your working floor space, and then reclaim it all when you’re done. By creating pop-up bays on-demand you’ll see a sharp increase in productivity as you get cars in and out of your shop in no time. The M7K is also an ideal choice for shops that perform ADAS calibration. You’ll need plenty of space to correctly perform ADAS calibration, which is why it’s great that you can simply get the M7K out of the way when necessary.

With the optional motorcycle adapter kit, you’ll be able to safely lift motorcycles, ATVs, and other motorized vehicles that weigh up to 1,500-lbs. to a comfortable working height. Its stainless-steel construction delivers safe and easy lifting while the durable polyurethane pads, which are slip and corrosion resistant, keep your vehicle in place while you work.

Which is the Right Lift for You?

So now the million-dollar question – which is the better lift? Well, this may seem like an anti-climatic answer, but the reality is that it depends on what you need.
