In light of California’s recent stay at home order, we want to update you on recent actions taken by BendPak to maintain operations. As a business with employees ‘supporting or enabling transportation functions, including dispatchers, maintenance and repair technicians, and automotive repair and maintenance facilities’, our workforce is deemed essential to the critical infrastructure.
At this time, BendPak remains open for business and is committed to carrying out efforts for our customers under these challenging circumstances. Our entire organization is highly focused on minimizing the impact for our customers. Production runs are normal and we are ensuring that our freight providers can support our logistical requirements.
Together, we are facing unprecedented circumstances. The coronavirus pandemic is affecting all of our families, our businesses, our communities, and our way of life. Our hearts go out to anyone who’s been impacted by the virus, either directly or indirectly.
At BendPak we’re focused on the health and safety of our employees, families and communities. We have taken precautionary measures in accordance with guidance from government and public health authorities to ensure the health and well-being of our employees, their families, and our trading partners.
We are taking all necessary measures to keep serving our customers. Most notably;
- REAL TIME ALERTS: We recently launched an intra-company SMS emergency alert system that delivers messages in real-time to our employees allowing for immediate, individual response with an automatic audit trail. This SMS crisis control is invaluable for providing up-to-the minute notifications to our employees.
- WORKING REMOTELY: We have prepared several business contingency plans in order to remain servicing our customers to the best of our ability in the event of a forced shutdown, including employees working virtually from their homes. We have extensive online collaboration capabilities for our employees to communicate with each other, our customers and suppliers. Our staff should be available to connect with you by phone, video messaging and email.
- VIGILANCE: We have been extra diligent on reinforcing our cleaning and sanitizing protocols throughout the company and are exercising social distancing measures to the best of our ability to help mitigate coronavirus transmission. We have mandated self-isolation for any team member showing symptoms of any illness, or who have reason to believe they have been exposed. To date, no BendPak employee has tested positive for the coronavirus.
- TRAVEL RESTRICTIONS: At this time, we are banning all non-essential business travel and are encouraging staff to replace in-person meetings with either phone or video conferencing. In addition, we are insisting that all vendor partners refrain from visiting BendPak until the end of April, at which time the Coronavirus threat will be reassessed.
BendPak is committed to providing ongoing communications to our employees and partners as the situation evolves. We value your business and are grateful for the trust you have placed in BendPak.
Thank you for your understanding.
