Open-Top Strength for Low-Ceiling Shops

Open-Top Strength for Low-Ceiling Shops

The BendPak 12APF is a 12,000-lb. open-top two-post floorplate lift designed for shops that service heavier vehicles but cannot accommodate a traditional overhead lift. Shortened columns and an open-top architecture eliminate the overhead beam, giving commercial vans, high-roof vehicles, lifted trucks, SUVs, and work vehicles the vertical clearance they need in low-ceiling bays. This lift is built for repair shops, fleet service centers, tire facilities, dealerships, and independent garages that need more capacity without giving up ceiling clearance. It combines heavy-duty lifting strength, concealed floorplate routing, Bi-Metric arm flexibility, and BendPak AP Series safety systems in a package made for real commercial vehicle service.

Commercial Vehicle Access with Floorplate Simplicity

The 12APF uses a steel floorplate to protect hydraulic and equalizer lines between the posts, keeping the bay cleaner and reducing exposed routing across the work area. That matters in busy shops where jacks, drain pans, carts, creepers, and technicians are constantly moving around the lift. With no overhead obstruction, the 12APF is especially useful for work trucks, service vans, upfitted vehicles, ladder racks, high roofs, and larger SUVs. The open-top design gives tall vehicles room to clear while still providing the stable two-post access technicians need for brakes, suspension, wheels, drivetrain, and general service work.

Bi-Metric Arms and Adapter Coverage for Mixed Fleets

Bi-Metric Arms and Adapter Coverage for Mixed Fleets

BendPak’s Bi-Metric arm design gives technicians more flexibility when spotting vehicles. Symmetric positioning helps with balanced service access, while asymmetric spotting can improve door and cabin access during longer jobs. Drop-end arms create a lower pad height for low-profile vehicles, while included cradle pads and height adapters help accommodate trucks, vans, SUVs, and wider frame variations. That versatility is the point of the 12APF. It is not just a heavier-capacity lift with shorter columns. It is a mixed-fleet work tool designed to handle low vehicles, tall vehicles, commercial vehicles, and everyday service vehicles under one open-top platform.

ASARS Safety System and Heavy-Duty APF Construction

The 12APF includes BendPak’s Automatic Swing Arm Restraint System with a forged-steel restraint, 360-degree holding grip, and over 2,000 pounds of holding force. Multiple safety lock positions, single-point safety release, and self-lubricating Dura-Glide bearings help technicians lift, lock, and lower with confidence. Single-piece columns, dual equalizer cables, oversized sheaves, and an electric-hydraulic power system support long-term performance in commercial environments. For shops that need low-ceiling installation flexibility with serious 12,000-lb. capability, the 12APF is built for strength, safety, and simpler day-to-day operation.
