Shipping Policy
Free Shipping Within the Contiguous United States
Most BendPak products include free shipping to eligible destinations within the 48 contiguous United States.
Free shipping applies only to qualifying products delivered to a Direct Shipping Point. Product eligibility and destination eligibility may vary, so we recommend confirming shipping terms with BendPak or an authorized BendPak dealer before placing your order.
Accessory-only shipments and service parts orders are generally not eligible for free shipping. Shipping charges for accessories and service parts are calculated based on package weight, quantity, and destination.
Carrier Selection
BendPak will select the freight carrier based on the destination, regional coverage, and the level of service determined by our Shipping Department.
Customers or dealers who request a specific freight carrier will be responsible for an additional 5% freight surcharge, payable at the time of the order.
Shipping Restrictions
C.O.D. shipment requests are not accepted.
Products weighing less than 150 lb will typically ship by FedEx Ground unless otherwise stated on the purchase order.
Some products cannot ship by FedEx because of their size, weight, or hazardous material classification.
Products classified as hazardous materials may be subject to additional fees.
Delivery Area Surcharges
BendPak's free shipping policy generally covers transportation to eligible Direct Shipping Points within the 48 contiguous United States.
Shipments delivered to a Non-Direct Shipping Point are subject to a Delivery Area Surcharge. This surcharge is separate from any other freight, residential, limited-access, liftgate, redelivery, or special-handling charges that may apply to the order.
What Is a Direct Shipping Point?
A Direct Shipping Point is typically located in a developed urban or commercial area near major highways and established shipping routes.
Freight carriers can usually transport shipments to these locations using their own service network without relying on an outside interline carrier. The shipment may be transferred between trucks or terminals, but it remains within the same carrier's network.
A Delivery Area Surcharge generally does not apply to shipments delivered to a qualifying Direct Shipping Point.
What Is a Non-Direct Shipping Point?
A Non-Direct Shipping Point is typically located in a rural, remote, or low-density area that is farther from major highways, freight terminals, and established shipping routes.
Deliveries to these locations often require the primary carrier to use an interline partner or additional transportation services. Because of the added cost and handling required, a Delivery Area Surcharge will be applied.
Freight Surcharges and Accessorial Charges
Free shipping applies to most eligible domestic orders, but additional charges may apply when a shipment requires services beyond standard pickup, transportation, and delivery.
BendPak domestic dealers are responsible for all accessorial charges associated with their orders. These charges may be added when the order is invoiced or billed after delivery if the carrier reports additional services or fees.
Liftgate Service
A $95 fee applies when a shipment requires liftgate service because the delivery location does not have a loading dock or adequate material-handling equipment.
Residential Pickup or Delivery
A $70 fee applies when a shipment is picked up from or delivered to a residential address.
Orders submitted without a business name in the shipping address may automatically be classified as residential deliveries.
Redelivery or Return Trip
A $75 fee applies each time the carrier must make an additional delivery attempt or return trip.
Waiting Time
Additional charges may apply when a driver experiences unloading delays beyond the carrier's standard delivery time allowance. The final charge will be based on the length of the delay and the carrier's applicable rates.
Storage Charges
Storage charges may apply when a shipment is delayed, placed on hold, or retained by the carrier for delivery on a requested date.
Storage may be charged at a rate of $0.20 per 100 lb, per day, while the shipment occupies space at a carrier terminal, dock, trailer, or other storage location.
Limited-Access and Special Delivery Locations
A minimum $70 fee applies to shipments delivered to locations with restricted, limited, or high-security access.
These locations may include:
Schools and universities
Farms and agricultural properties
Military installations
Prisons and correctional facilities
Government buildings
Resorts and hospitality properties
Trade shows and convention centers
Other locations requiring special access or delivery procedures
Reconsignment
If a shipment must be redirected to a different destination while in transit, reconsignment charges will apply. The outbound rate per mile will be calculated from the original delivery location to the revised destination.
Returned Merchandise
Merchandise returned to BendPak is subject to a 20% restocking fee. The customer is also responsible for all applicable outbound, return, and additional shipping charges incurred by BendPak.
See the Return and Exchange Policy for complete return requirements and restrictions.
