Important Safety Notice
Stop Use Required for Certain BendPak MDS-6LP and MDS-6LPF
Date: May 30, 2026
Notice ID: TSB 199-032026
Failure to follow this notice may result in equipment not meeting applicable safety standards.
BendPak has identified a standards compliance condition affecting certain MDS-6LP and MDS-6LPF mid-rise vehicle service lifts manufactured on or after April 1, 2022. Affected lifts must be taken out of service immediately until the required corrective action has been completed.
Reason for This Notice
Safety standards and certification requirements continue to evolve across the vehicle lift industry. BendPak regularly reviews its products against applicable standards and works with industry organizations, including the Automotive Lift Institute (ALI), to identify and address compliance matters when they arise.
Following a review conducted in conjunction with ALI, BendPak determined that certain affected lifts do not conform to the requirements of ANSI/ALI ALCTV:2017.
Specifically, the applicable ANSI/ALI ALCTV:2017 standard limits the vertical distance between the maximum rise height and the uppermost Load Holding Device (LHD) position to 6 inches. In affected units, this distance may exceed 9 inches.
This condition may increase the risk of unintended movement or instability if the lift is raised to maximum height without proper mechanical engagement.
BendPak is taking corrective action to bring affected units into compliance with the applicable standard.
