Ranger Wheel Service Equipment ETL Certification

BendPak and Ranger Tire and Wheel Service Equipment Achieves North American Safety Certification

BendPak is proud to announce a major milestone for its tire and wheel service equipment. Following an intensive 18-month engineering and validation project, BendPak and Ranger tire changers and wheel balancers have achieved ETL certification to applicable UL and CSA safety standards.

The achievement represents one of the most comprehensive engineering initiatives undertaken across the BendPak and Ranger tire and wheel service lineup.

18 Months of Engineering, Testing and Refinement

Achieving certification required an extensive review of the equipment from the inside out. BendPak engineering teams evaluated critical electrical, mechanical and safety systems, identifying opportunities to strengthen the equipment while meeting stringent North American certification requirements.

Electrical architecture, wiring, motors, controls, switches, circuit protection, grounding and safety interlocks were evaluated and upgraded where necessary. Mechanical and pneumatic systems received the same attention, including rotating assemblies, structural components, pressure controls and guarding.

Operator safety was a major focus throughout the project. Pinch-point protection, moving components, electrical and fire hazards, pressure systems and other potential risks encountered during everyday tire and wheel service were carefully assessed. Where existing designs did not meet the required criteria, components were redesigned or replaced, systems were reconfigured and additional safeguards were incorporated.

Every change then had to prove itself through extensive testing and validation before the finished equipment could achieve certification.

Confidence Built into the Machine

The work completed during the certification process has strengthened BendPak and Ranger tire and wheel service equipment across some of the areas that matter most in a busy shop, including component quality, electrical and mechanical safety, durability and operator protection.

ETL certification provides independent verification that applicable products have been evaluated to recognized UL and CSA safety standards. For technicians and shop owners, that means greater confidence in everything from the electrical components behind the panels to the controls and safety systems they rely on throughout the workday.

It’s a level of scrutiny designed for equipment expected to work hard, day after day, in professional automotive environments.

Raising the Standard for Tire and Wheel Service

BendPak and Ranger have spent decades developing equipment for automotive professionals, and this achievement establishes a new benchmark for the tire and wheel service lineup.

The engineering standards and lessons established throughout the 18-month initiative will also influence future product development. The same attention to component selection, system design and operator safety will continue to shape the next generation of BendPak and Ranger equipment.

ETL certification marks a major step forward for BendPak and Ranger tire and wheel service equipment, but the work doesn’t stop here. The standards established through this project now set the foundation for what comes next.
