Project Manager

Reports To: : Vice President of Operations & President/CEO
Location: Santa Paula, CA

BendPak is looking for a highly motivated and organized project manager for our operations team to enhance our operations efficiency during all phases of new product development and projects implementation. The project manager will oversee projects from the planning stage through implementation, testing and reporting. The project manager will be the main point of communication between product and supply vendors, product testing agencies and internal sales and engineering departments. The project manager must have project management skills, and a strong sense of focus, organization, attention to detail and a proven ability to guide others to deliver outstanding results in a timely manner.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Effectively applies NPD methodology and enforces project standards
  • Manage project scheduling, planning and resource assignments
  • Ensures that each stage of the project is progressing on time, on budget and to the right quality standards and is tracked appropriately
  • Prepare project and product change orders and other materials sufficient to meet deadline and/or budgetary requirements
  • Coordinates with Engineering, Operations, Marketing, Sales and suppliers to meet product delivery deadlines
  • Produce, publish, and update charts showing progress and notify management of potential slippage of due dates and milestones
  • Work with and communicate progress to internal stakeholders and ensure that projects are scoped properly and handed off seamlessly for deployment
  • Complete project closeout by verifying technical accuracy and completeness of work
  • Creates and executes project work plans and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements in accordance with internal New Product Development processes
  • Identifies required resources and assigns responsibilities
  • Ensures project documentation is complete, current, and archived appropriately
  • Must be comfortable presenting project issues and summaries to senior management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management

REQUIREMENTS AND TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Sciences, Business, or a related fiel
  • PMP certification preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of the job typically acquired through five or more years related work experience; including two or more years leading multiple projects of varying complexity and scope and direct leadership of teams
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team with proven results
  • In-depth knowledge and proficiency with program management processes, methodology, and architecture
  • Thorough knowledge of industry practices and the marketplace associated with fielded product or service
  • Proficient knowledge of mechanical engineering, and procurement requirements and understanding of financial and production processes
  • Proficient in Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, and business applications software and the ability to use specialized project management and financial applications
  • Ability to respond to and negotiate with customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community
  • Ability to develop effective written communication and present information to various levels of management, customers, and/or suppliers
  • Experience in interpretation of technical and/or engineering information into applicable program and contract language preferred
  • Experience in the design and manufacture of electromechanical, hydraulic and electronic products
  • Experience with UL, TUV, CSA, and other NRTLS’s and regulatory agency requirements and their effect on project management
  • Ability to handle multiple projects at once
  • Able to communicate to all levels of management
  • Must be a team player with exceptional organizational skills

  • This job operates in a professional office environment.
  • This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines and various computer programs.
