Hi Buster,

We don't sell direct, but our distributors often have different promotions regardless of what quarter we're in. At this time we do not offer an 8,000-lb. four post lift. We do offer a standard 7,000-lb. four-post car lift and a 9,000-lb. four post car lift in a variety of widths, lengths and heights. Please see all our HD-9 models to find the right one for you if you'd like a 9k lift. Or contact customer service if you'd like a little help in determining the best lift for your needs.

Thanks for the question, Buster!

Sincere,
The BendPak Team

I am getting ready to build a shop building at home so I can better service my own diesel pickup trucks. These trucks run from 6,800 pounds to 9,500 pounds typically. Once the building is done I plan on adding a 2 post lift. Where can I find the info I need as far as floor requirements. During construction I can plan for a thicker floor at the location the lift will be installed or do pillars below the floor. I want to plan this building correctly now and be ready for the lift down the road. The building will have either an inside height of 14 ft or more. Hope to have a 12,000 pound lift soon, I am getting tired of crawling under things to work on them.

Thanks so much for the place to ask questions online before making mistakes.

Hi Jason,
BendPak ships free to most locations in the continental United States. You can always check to see if your location qualifies by using the Rural Area Transportation Zone (RATZ) tool. As for pricing and installation, our retailers and independent installers set that. However, we see that you already entered submitted your how to purchase form and you should hear from a BendPak car lift dealer shortly if you have not already.

Thanks for visiting the blog! Let us know if you have any problems. =)

Hi Alex!
Yes, many so-called manufacturers will simply go offshore and find a pre-fabbed commodity lift and slap a sticker on it and call it theirs. The MD-6XP car lift however is all BendPak, designed by our engineers to be the best it can be. It did not exist before our engineers developed it. The lift itself is welded up in our factory just north of Shanghai. It's two huge facilities (300,000 square feet) with state-of-the-art equipment that we built from the ground up. Nothing but BendPak products are manufactured here under our strict supervision. However, we do some minor manufacturing on site here in Santa Paula, CA as well. You can find out more about BendPak's manufacturing methods here: http://www.bendpak.com/company/manufacturing/

But it's not so much the "offshore" part that we think is the problem. It's when companies call themselves a manufacturer but they don't actually make anything. When they don't know their own product but try to sell it as their own, a customer can be left hanging if something goes wrong.

The hydraulic pump/motor is made by SPX Fluid Power, located in Rockford, Illinois. If you have any other questions, we're only too happy to answer them. You can also contact our Sales VP Jeff Kritzer at jkritzer@bendpak.com. Thanks for checking out our blog!

All the best,
BendPak Team

You mentioned "offshore" in point 9.

I've looked at a few mid-rise lifts and I have now narrowed it down to the MD-6XP Mid Rise Lift.

Where is the lift itself made and welded up?
Where is the motor made and what brand is it?
Where is the pump made and what brand is it?
